Fire Lillies builds relationships with rural pastors and church leaders, equipping them with biblical and practical leadership training while partnering with them to bring lasting transformation to the vulnerable communities they serve. We do this by strengthening 2 legs
Leg 1
Theological Training
We provide free, outcome-based theological and ministry training for rural pastors and church leaders who have had little or no formal theological education.
The training equips leaders in areas such as:
* Leading like Jesus
* Handling Scripture faithfully
* Reaching people and making disciples
* Shepherding God’s people
* Developing healthy and sustainable churches
Leg 2
Community Upliftment
Training is only the beginning.
We challenge and encourage every pastor and church leader to take what they have learned back into their own community — serving the poor, caring for the vulnerable and becoming part of the solution to the challenges around them.
Rather than creating dependency on outside aid, Fire Lillies partners with local churches to develop sustainable ways of serving and empowering their own communities.
Our desire is to see the local church become the hands and feet of Jesus — equipped to lead, empowered to serve, and able to bring hope and transformation from within.

Fire Lillies Book
A story of humility, healing and hope!
George and Carolyn had two clearly defined goals when they decided to do this Fire Lilies Project. They wanted to stir up the believers in Jesus just how precious their lives are, and how much impact they can have in this broken world. Secondly, as witnesses, they wanted to share stories of ordinary believers whom they met all over Africa, people who chose to use their lives to display the heart of Father God in the most
unimaginable tough situations. Â
In 2025, George and Carolyn transitioned out of their leadership role at Hands at Work Africa, yet their passion to serve the church in the hardest places stays unchanged.
